One drive shaft done

One drive shaft done

One axle for the propulsion system is produced and one more is on the way.

The production of new parts for the prototype is now up and running. The entire team was away for one month doing their international work experience, which is a mandatory part of the education at Göransonsskaskolan. They came back last week and could show me the parts seen on the picture.

More to come for sure.

Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009

I am now using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009 for all the CAD related work. It's the free student version and it works like a charm. If you are a University Student and want to check it follow this link: www.autodesk.com/educommunity

The new team presented

The new team presented

I have just updated the team presentation with the new members. It's a group of really great personalities with lot's of energy (and great humour). I'm also very happy to announce that for the first time ever Team Crazy Swedes now involves two female members. It's very unique for the sport of Robot Wars, and I'm confident that their female touch will be very valuable.

The individual presentations are at the moment written in Swedish, I will translate the texts later.

In the picture you can see Johanna, the first person I talked to in the new group and, as everybody else, a great asset for the future glory of Team Crazy Swedes. ;).

I'm back, and things are moving

It's with kind of a guilty conscience that I'm writing this news item. I know that the worst thing on internet is when a website is never updated. I'm sure it's been a year now since I updated this site, auch!. My excuse is that I have been an exchange student in Australia, and I kind of left the robot project at home in Sweden.

Now however I'm back, and the project is running again. A new team is assembled and I have very high expectations on this year. The new team will be announced soon.

More parts for the new robot

More parts for the new robot

During the short break I had in my studies before easter I managed to get myself to workshop. Me and the other guys in the team managed to get the parts shown in the picture above done. Two motor mounts and a bunch of walls to fasten the batteries in the new robot. For more pictures see the images section. More parts are of course on their way.

The first parts for the next robot

The first parts for the next robot

The first parts for the second robot of Team Crazy Swedes are now produced and delivered.

The major project at the moment is of course still Version 5.7. Despite problems with part and material sponsorship Version 5.7 is not forgotten.

A new project is however about to be undertaken by the Crazy Swedes team. Most of the information abut that project is classified at the moment, but feel free to make your own conclusions from these pictures. It's 4mm thick steel plates with the diameter 800mm. They were produced in order to assemble a prototype this spring. More information about this new robot will be posted.

Robot meeting 2006 in Katrineholm

Robot meeting 2006 in Katrineholm

Of course I brought my robot to the one Swedish robot gathering this year. It was only in order to show it up, and not for fighting, but it was a good rehearsal on packing and transporting the 100Kg piece.

Check out some more pictures in the images section.

And of course congratualitions to Team Bovik for winning the Swedish ant weight champinships that were held at the event.

Great updates on the web site

Some greatly appricated functions have been added to the home page. The news you are readin right now, the images section, semi automatic update functions (only good for us editors of the site), are just a few of all the functions. The internet based home for team Crazy Swedes have become much more comfortable and good looking.

Many many thanks to Andreas from www.ploski-lindberg.se for all the work you have done on this site.

Autodesk inventor sponsorship

Autodesk inventor sponsorship

Recivied a DVD containing Autodesk Inventor professional 11. A great tool not only for construcion and calculations but also a great tool for making graphically advanced presentations of the project. This will help the project a lot.

(The picture is a good example o what you can do after a couple of hours of learning and playing around with the features of the program.)
